![]() ![]() While they are discovering this, Alice is at a ceremony that she called for, with the intention of having everyone commit their souls to Mary. Mary swore to satan that she would live through her children. Fenn finds him hanged in the church, its ruled as a suicide.įenn does more digging with the doctor though and they also discover the truth, Mary was a witch and Alice is her descendant. Her uncle has a scene where he is in the basement smoking and then he discovers some information, the truth about Mary, which of course results in his death. We also have a scene where her uncle collapses because he is also ill, something to do with his lungs, the doctor had given him 6 months. I’ll sort of skip most of the non important filler stuff but Fenn starts to doubt things after a conversation with Alices uncle, who is worried because evil usually follows closely behind the work of god. During some sort of press conference sort of thing with the church, Alice comes out and basically tells all the cameras that “Mary” or “The Lady” just wants peoples faith. The church ultimately gets involved, as they want to make the tree a site for worship but they need to prove that actual miracles were happening. During another service, she cures a young boy of an illness he had that left him paralyzed. This sort of kick starts everything, as Fenn wrote a piece about it and soon Alice is seen as a face for miracles. She mentions a “Mary” who is the one healing her. Then Alice speaks, which she normally could not do before and she can hear too. The next day he heads back to Alices home for a church service and in the middle of it, Alice gets up and heads to the creepy tree, other young girls in the church following behind her seemingly in a daze - along with everyone else who are confused. The doctor and Fenn leave the home, they have a conversation in the driveway where the doctor is a little hostile (its implied Fenn was drinking and driving) but she drives him to a motel. She lives with her uncle, who is a priest. ![]() ![]() In this scene we also find out Alice is deaf and her parents are passed. He carries her home and then local doctor visits, the doctor essentially says the girl (Alice) is fine. There is a girl there, shes talking to herself, then he touches her shoulder and she faints. He gets out of the car and ends up back at the tree. Then we have him driving, a bottle of alcohol falling off of his passenger seat causes him to take his eyes off the road and wow surprise, someone is in the road and he swerves, then crashes. He smashes it open, then uses that as the basis of his story in relation to the cattle mutilations. ![]() Anyways, the cattle mutilation claim was false, though he does end up finding a creepy doll buried in some soil at the base of a wicked looking tree. He visits a small town in MA (I believe) to investigate reports of cattle mutilation, as he now works for a smaller journalism agency that deals with supernatural findings, sort of bottom of the barrel journalism I suppose. Then we are introduced to Fenn, a reporter who is in a rough patch in his career due to being caught fabricating stories. A priest is tying her soul to a live inside a doll. First scene we are in the pov of a witch, a mask is being nailed into her face then she is hanged on a tree while being burned. ![]()
